Responsibilities
• Reads and reviews project details and blueprints to understand all that is required of sculpture team to read foam parts for molding.
• Cleans, maintains, and sculpts foam pieces into correct size shapes and details to reflect blueprints.
• Determines proper foam preparation for molding of part. ie(protecting foam with epoxies or foil; applying pre-textures such as stone finishes, damage or aging; creating appropriate flanges for parts.)
• Works on positive or negative; high-low relief and in the round; organic and architectural sculptures.
• Most sculpting follows blueprints strictly but can make design choices when required.
• Assembly work post casting to blueprints including attachment glassing, bracketing and body work.
• Mold making: Box molding, brush application and bracing, and hybrid molds
